Tips to Battle Winter Dryness
1. Hot Oil Treatments
2. Deep Conditioning Treatment
3. Breakage Prevention moisturizer:
4. Essential Oils- Peppermint, Rosemary, and Ylang ylang.
5. Steam Treatment- Conditioning treatment done at home or in the salon with a deep conditioner and a hair steamer for maximum absorption and deep penetration of conditioner to the scalp.
6. Rinse Conditioner with cold water (Hot water rinses away all the moisturizing properties in the conditioner).
7. Add Flax Seed Oil, Fish Oil, or an Omega 3, 6, 9 Oil to your regimen. (Can be purchased at any health store or Wal-Mart.)
8.Wear a hat (non-wool) to protect your hair from environmental elements.
9. Increase moisturizing routine- Winter is the time to really focus on your ends. I currently primarily apply coconut oil on my ends every night.
10. Add oil to conditioners - Olive oil, Jojoba oil, or Grapeseed oil.
